death of father of my maternal grandmother

I’ve spent three days in my maternal grandmother’s village. one of the reason to go to the village was to see the maternal grandfather of my mother who was very ill. he passed away on Saturday. We were in village that time.

Nobody knows his exact age. My maternal grandmother is over 70. so his father might was over 100. he had a lot of grandchildren and countless grand-grandchildren including me.

Actually I didn’t expect his death when we were going to village. Yes he was very ill, he could die any time. But I didn’t expect that he was gonna die when we were staying in village. I’ve tweeted few about my village travelling. I’ve not mentioned anywhere that my maternal great-grandfather is dying or about to die. my tweets were like that:

have to go to village tomorrow. for three days. with mother. thinking should I bring the netbook or not.

a lonely kite

Woke up at 3:40am today. Didn’t know how, probably by the noise of thunders. It was raining with frequent thunders. Electricity was gone. I couldn’t sleep again, not for the thunders, cause of scattered thoughts were going on my mind. Then it came to dawning time. I left the bed and prayed. Then went to the veranda next to my bedroom. It was still raining and hazy dark outside. Looking at the sky and rain, my view got stuck on the top of minaret that is more than 70 feet high. A kite was sitting on its railing of it completely drenched with rain. I could see it clearly even in that hazy darkness because kite is big bird, prey. It wasn’t moving. Sometime a bit shaking cause of wind. I knew it won’t move from their till the rain stop. After watching it several minutes, I went to sleep again. Forgot to set up alarm, woke up late and missed the uni bus!

It was my birthday yesterday. There was no celebration. Celebrating birthday of an adult person isn’t usual here. Got a lot of birthday wishes in online, mostly in twitter, four phone calls from friends and a little heavy dinner with rice, chicken curry, beef curry at home.

pohela boishakh, mobile internet

Trying to do all my internet activities from mobile. Right now typing this in mobile. There are lot of limitations to type on normal mobile keypad then on computer keypad but I have to do it. I get a feeling that in near future, I have to give up using internet from my computer. Perhaps not completely but mostly. I use pre-paid dial up internet in my computer through one of my mobile. speed? 80 – 100 kbps
It’s ‘Pohela Boishakh’ today. New Bangla Year. Holiday. It’s a big festival in this country. First time in many years, I’m staying inside home in Pohela Boishakh all day around.
