most of time I don’t have any clue what to write on my blog. if I have any, I find myself too lazy to write it down. and when I feel to write something, at that moment I’m not around my computer!

but I read every post of the blogs I’m subscribed, even mostly I don’t make any comment. and most of time I read them on email!

death of father of my maternal grandmother

I’ve spent three days in my maternal grandmother’s village. one of the reason to go to the village was to see the maternal grandfather of my mother who was very ill. he passed away on Saturday. We were in village that time.

Nobody knows his exact age. My maternal grandmother is over 70. so his father might was over 100. he had a lot of grandchildren and countless grand-grandchildren including me.

Actually I didn’t expect his death when we were going to village. Yes he was very ill, he could die any time. But I didn’t expect that he was gonna die when we were staying in village. I’ve tweeted few about my village travelling. I’ve not mentioned anywhere that my maternal great-grandfather is dying or about to die. my tweets were like that:

have to go to village tomorrow. for three days. with mother. thinking should I bring the netbook or not.

father of my maternal grandmother died today at noon in village. we supposed to leave village today but for this reason am still in village.

came to village today for three days. with mother. in my mother’s maternal grandfather house. it’s about 50 kilometer far away from Sylhet city. not so far but condition of road makes it far! road is so broken and narrow that it took almost two hours to move 50 km.

first time I brought my netbook in village. seems it’s not so useful here. internet connection speed is horrible. right now I’m getting average 4-5 KB/s!

despite many facts, I like village. being very close to nature, having fresh air. but I never won’t like to stay here for a long time.

last kiss of monsoon

the Monsoon is over according to Bangla calendar. it’s ended a week ago. surprisingly we got a 3 days non-stop rain just before that. I’ve observed this monsoon very closely and carefully. had watched the clouds on daytime and night. were watching the rain drops sitting on my veranda. the clouds don’t rumble in monsoon. it moves fast, reform fast but don’t rumble. even I can’t remember to see any lighting! it’s just rain. rain and storm, monsoon storm. but we got comparatively less rainfall in this monsoon. I didn’t hear any major flood warning from anywhere of Bangladesh.

when it was raining last week, I realized that it’s not gonna happen in this year again. we get rain in almost every season except in short winter. but not this kind of rain. monsoon rain is different. and it was the last kiss of monsoon in this year.

stayed up whole night. have been doing it for a couple of weeks. sleep at morning and then wake up at noon. weird! hope to change this habit when the Ramadan will be finished.

a massacre that ignored by history

In the morning of 18 February 1983, more than 5000 (officially 2191) men, women and children were massacred in Assam (a province of India). Most of the victims were Bangladeshi muslims who had immigrated to the region during the liberation war of Bangladesh. Not a single person has even had to face trial for the gruesome massacre. The report of the massacre has not been made public. Enough evidences make it obvious that local governments of that region belonging to the Indian government (both the Congress and the AGP) have suppressed information about the massacre.

The matter surprise me most that very few Bangladeshi people know about that massacre is not mentioned in anywhere. Not written in our history books. I didn’t know about that massacre till today. It seems they don’t want to flag a dead horse.

Pohela Ashar & Lunar Eclipse

Today was “Pohela Ashar”, the first day of monsoon. According to Bangla calender, the monsoon is divided into two months, Ashar & Sraban. Actually in a tropical region like Bangladesh, there are mainly two seasons, the wet and the dry. And these two months Ashar & Sraban are most wet.

A total lunar eclipse gonna begin at tonight 12:22am Bangladesh standard time. It is 11:18pm evening right now, but the whole sky is damm cloudy. Gonna miss to watch it for sure. Mid or maximum lunar eclipse will happen at 2:13am, and it ends at 4:03am.

Just a heavy thunderstorm passed out. It rained at least 5 times since morning. It’s 12:44 noon right now. I think it’s gonna rain again in few minutes! The heavy heavy clouds coming and gathering fast from north and west.

The young crow kid is too ill or dead. Don’t see any movements and no sounds coming from the nest. I think it is dead because it’s parent not going to the nest after the storm.

It has been raining since the night before yesterday. Pre-monsoon rain. Not raining nonstop but at least ten times in a day! It’s like rain 30-40 minutes, then an hour of desistance then it start over again. According to Bangla calendar, it’s still 24 days to monsoon.

There is a crow nest on the tree next to my bedroom window. There were two crow kids. One has died (or gone!). I don’t know what happened to that. Since morning, I see only one there. The remaining one is growing fast.
